Following recent organisational streamlining, one of the world’s leading international mining companies currently seeks a Global Commodity Specialist – Iron Ore for their expanding global greenfields exploration team.
Based in Perth, you will be responsible for mainta ining and enhancing the quality of the Company’s greenfields iron ore exploration project portfolio, maximising the prospect of discovery to add sustainable value to the organisation. As a key member of the exploration management team, you will be charged with providing sound strategic advice to Exploration and Business Development team. Your key accountabilities will include:
> The review and monitoring of iron ore specific exploration projects and opportunities.
> The development of new ideas for multi-commodity exploration programs in areas capable of delivering high potential projects.
> Fostering professional development of the exploration team.
> Key input into the development of the exploration and iron ore business strategy.
> Monitoring trends in exploration methodologies, initiation of new studies relevant to improve efficiency in exploration.
> Ongoing scanning of the iron ore industry and timely identification of project acquisition and JV opportunities that meet the organisation’s project criteria.
This exciting new appointment is based in Perth, with regular domestic and international travel as required. In addition to the rare and challenging responsibility of overseeing a global exploration portfolio and providing valuable strategic direction, you will be provided with industry leading career development and progression opportunities coupled with a rewarding remuneration package.
As the ideal candidate, you will be tertiary qualified in geology with an extensive background in greenfields iron ore exploration. You will also possess a demonstrated track record in project generation, property and project evaluations and familiarity with leading edge exploration methodologies.
